I’m originally from a small town in Montana and after graduating from Montana State University with a BFA in design and BS in marketing, I set out to work internationally. I found a job designing graphics and packaging for a toy company in Shanghai, China, and quickly fell in love with the big-city lifestyle and exposure to other cultures. After returning to the states, I moved to Portland, Oregon, where I worked at agencies, on in-house design teams, and as a freelancer for a wide range of companies and clients including Nike, Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Microsoft, Intel, and HP. I always wanted to live in New York and I’ve been interested in SVA’s branding program for the last decade, so seeing it all come to fruition is as exciting as it is surreal. After I complete the program I would like work for a global branding agency where I’m able to combine my past experience in design with the strategy and critical thinking I learn at SVA.
