Melinda Welch

Voted “most inquisitive” at sleepaway summer camp, Melinda’s penchant for curiosity was evident from an early age. This led to some unusual yet formative experiences, like becoming an apprentice at an architectural stained glass studio by the age of 16, and attending two college degree programs at once.     Creative Project Management was the ideal role for Melinda after graduating from Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College. Creative Project Management was the ideal role for Melinda after graduating from Parsons School of Design and Eugene Lang College. If there was a creative endeavor in need of shepherding through concept development to fruition, she was your gal. Melinda’s interests were piqued again while working alongside some of the sharpest creative and strategic tacks in the business. Beyond understanding the ‘hows’ of commercial creative undertakings, she grew increasingly intrigued by ‘whats’ and ‘whys.’

Fast-forward through intense agency all-nighters, more than a few manic episodes of experimental baking, and countless Law & Order marathons. Melinda is currently building a design and branding studio emphasizing work for chef and restaurant clients and is thrilled to join SVA’s Masters in Branding program in the class of 2017.

The curriculum for The Masters in Branding Program allows students to create frameworks to guide brand, design and business development, critically evaluate brand, business, marketing and design strategies and Master the intellectual link between leadership and creativity. Learn more...
