Malik Benin earned his bachelor degree in economics and art history from Widener University, where he won the Sidney & Fredricka Waldauer Award for top student in economics and was a member of the varsity swim team.
For more than two decades, education has been the constant driver for global immersion. As an undergraduate student, he also attended Eastern Michigan University’s Art and History Cultural program. While attending, he visited and studied art and history, travelling to most of the countries in Western Europe, and cities in Turkey, Egypt, and Israel.
Malik spent the early part of his career in the financial services sector where he built a billion dollar company’s first intranet.
Over the past decade he has founded two companies: one that designs and manufactures consumer products for select tourist markets in the Caribbean; the second consults to small businesses seeking to conduct business in China, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.
