Michi Ohira

Michi is a graphic designer always in search of the bigger picture. She is half Thai, half Japanese and born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. During her attendance to an International School Michi's exposure to different cultures encouraged her fascination and exploration of identity, human behaviour and story telling. This created the foundations for her passion in visual communications and user-centered design.

Michi graduated from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia with a Bachelors of Multimedia Systems and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design at RMIT University. Since graduating, She has worked for several small Australian creative agencies for a wide range of creative and corporate clients. Michi also has her own graphic design business where she works with clients in fashion, theatre, hospitality, social enterprise, NGO's and I.T.

Attending SVA and moving to New York has always been a part of Michi's bigger picture and she is excited to explore what the city and the MPS Branding students and faculty will help her discover.
