Tom Calabrese

Class 2013

Thomas is a designer who likes to think about strategy, people, and science fiction. Studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Design, as well as the School of Visual Arts with a Masters in Branding.

After graduating from the Branding program, he co-founded an education non-profit, Quill.org. Quill challenges students to become better writers through interactive games. They received seed funding through the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in 2014. Since then they’ve been involved with three accelerator programs: LearnLaunch, AT&T Aspire, and Fast Forward. What excites Thomas most about Quill is the daily impact we have on students learning — to date we’ve had nearly 100k students using our program.
