Audrey Arbeeny


As Owner and Emmy™ Award-Winning Executive Producer for Audiobrain, Audrey Arbeeny has realized her dream of combining her lifelong love of music with proven business skills. Audrey oversees Audiobrain’s projects from start to finish, coordinating logistics, resources and talent. Audrey also oversees Audiobrain’s ongoing research in the areas of psychoacoustics and biomusicology.  

Music has long been an important part of Audrey’s life. She began formal piano training at the age of four. She is also an accomplished flutist and studied voice at Carnegie Hall for many years. In addition to her musical talents, she has extensive recording, editing, licensing, and sonic branding experience.  

An alumna of New York University, Audrey worked for many years at a premier music production company where she rose to the coveted position of Senior Producer. Seeking new challenges and more creative opportunity, Audrey created Audiobrain, a premier sonic branding boutique dedicated to the intentional development of music and sound.  

Audrey is highly skilled in many areas of sound development and implementation. Her event production credits include Senior Producer/On-site Music Supervisor for the NBC's  1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, and the 2008 Beijing and 2010 Vancouver Olympics Broadcasts, ESPN Winter X Games, and IBM's Marketing Exposition,  She has been Creative Director / Head of Production for the development of many product sounds including Microsoft's Xbox 360, Zune and Unified Communications Group Products, IBM's ThinkPad, and Virgin Mobile USA. As a leader in the area of sonic branding, she has GlaxoSmith Kline, Verizon, Scholastic, Holland America Cruise Lines, Major League Soccer and HBO to name a few. Audrey has done sound development and testing on prototypes for McDonalds, IBM, and Sony and has been asked to serve as  Music Research Coordinator for the world renowned hospital in New York. "Music and sound are far more important than most people realize, and we'll be developing studies to substantiate our theories about its affect on wellness and healing". This constant search for knowledge, exploration and new ways of thinking about sound are why Audrey is one of the most respected producers in her industry. Audrey currently teaches Sonic Branding at New York's Pratt Institute, the only sonic branding course in the country.  

Awards include 2008 Emmy Award™ for NBC Beijing Olympics Broadcast, 2008 Communicator Award Best  Audio Production Corporate Image Virgin Mobile USA,  and Communication Arts Interactive Annual for IBM Thinklets. Professional Affiliations include the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, The Recording Academy, and Design Management Institute, Publications Include Design Management Institute Vol 20,number 4/2009 Design For a Holistic Customer Experience. Audrey has been featured in many publications including Fast Company, Variety, The New York Times, Ad Age, Forbes, and Post Magazine. Sonic Branding Speaking Engagements include Design Management Institute, Brand ManageCamp, Manhattan College of Music, Alberta College of Art and Design, Thunderbird School of Global Management, and Tribeca Film Institute.
